A shower support bar, also called a stabilizer bar, is a metal tube that ties the top of a fixed glass panel to a wall, the ceiling or another panel so the glass cannot flex. HIPAD makes support bars and their connectors in stainless steel 304: Φ19, Φ22 and Φ25 mm round tube, square tube and flat bars, with glass-to-wall and glass-to-glass connectors at 90°, 135° and 180° for 10–12 mm tempered glass. A frameless shower panel is held only at its edges, by Cam kelepçeleri or a U-channel. A tall panel with a free edge can still move at the top, and every time the door closes the panel takes the impact. A support bar fixes that top corner to a solid point, so the panel stays straight and the door keeps its alignment.
A support bar system has three parts: the tube or flat bar, bir glass connector that clamps through a hole near the top of the panel, and a wall flange, ceiling fitting or second glass connector at the other end. The bar is also called a stabilizer bar, shower brace, header bar veya tie bar, and in Spanish barra estabilizadora, tirante para mampara veya barra de tracción para baño.

Choose a bar by what it connects: glass to a wall, glass to glass, or glass to the ceiling. The views below show each configuration seen from above, except the ceiling rod, which is shown from the front.
A straight tube from the top of the panel to the back or side wall, with a glass connector at one end and a wall flange at the other. Single-head and double-head versions are available.
Slanted-head, elbow and curved bars reach a wall point that is not square to the panel, or bend around a corner. Swivel connectors take up small angle differences on site.
Short bars and connectors that join a front panel to a return panel at 90°, or two panels to each other. They are used in corner showers where the door hangs on the return panel.
Flat bars and adjustable connectors link inline panels across a door opening (180°) or join the angled panels of a neo-angle shower (135°). They sit close to the glass for a slim look.
Vertical rods run from above down to the top of the panel. They are used for walk-in screens and islands where no side wall is within reach. Confirm the fixing details for your ceiling with us.

A support bar sits at the top of the shower, where steam collects and water does not dry quickly. HIPAD makes support bars and connectors in stainless steel 304, which resists rust in daily bathroom use far better than 201 or plated iron. Support bars are made in the same finishes as our shower hinges, glass clamps and handles, so the bar matches the rest of the enclosure. Other plated and PVD colors are available for private-label collections.

A panel clamped to a wall and floor and less than about 1000 mm wide usually does not. Add a support bar when the panel is wider than about 1000 mm, has a free vertical edge longer than about 1200 mm, carries a door on glass-to-glass hinges, or is a walk-in screen with one free end.
Φ22 mm suits most home and hotel showers. Use Φ19 mm for short bars on light panels, and Φ25 mm for long bars, 12 mm glass or walk-in screens. Square tube and flat bars are available for modern and slim designs.
Fix the glass connector near the top corner of the panel, typically 50–100 mm below the top edge, so the bar clears the door swing. The hole must be drilled before the glass is tempered.
Most HIPAD support bar connectors fit 10–12 mm tempered glass. Some connectors fit 6–12 mm glass. Tell us your glass thickness and we will confirm the connector.
Yes. Where no side wall is within reach, for example on a walk-in screen, a vertical rod can fix the panel to the ceiling. The ceiling must have a solid fixing point. Send us the ceiling height and panel size to confirm the rod and fittings.
HIPAD support bars and connectors are made of stainless steel 304 for corrosion resistance in wet bathrooms. 316 stainless steel can be discussed for coastal, pool and spa projects.
